Happy Birthday America

Thank you to all who have and who continue to serve our country so that we may be free today. Today at our dinner table we prayed for all of you. We thanked you for your service, that you take time away from your families so that we may be with ours. We prayed that you all get home safe and that you get home soon. Bless you all!

Amelia was not a fan of the fireworks and kept a close watch on the sparklers

Our town square has been beautiful this week. Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?

We have had such a fun 4th of July weekend. Friday night we walked down to the square for some pizza, ice cream and a concert. We saw a lot of sweet friends and we also were able to have a quiet dinner while Amelia slept in her stroller. Score one for Team Comerford!

Saturday morning was the Sweet Land of Liberty Parade. It's for kids only and so much fun. They have to help with the floats and decoration and it is just adorable. The theme was America through the years. Our group brought out the 70's with a little Peace, Love and USA. Tuesday night we all met to tie-dye t-shirts and Saturday morning we were all decked out. Amelia and her friend, Molly, rode in a wagon surrounded by the cutest tie dyed kids you've ever seen. We can't wait until next year!

Ready for the parade

Amelia showing off her shirt. This was the smallest t-shirt they had so Katy and I made them into dresses for the girls. They will be able to wear them for years! Ha!

Saturday night we had a post parade dinner with some great friends. We grilled out and shot of fireworks for the children. I never could imagine how much fun it is to watch the excitement on their faces.

This morning I called Mom and we discovered neither of us had plans. I also discovered that they had steaks marinating. So, they packed up their supper and brought it to our house. It was like a little last minute surprise. We had a great day together. We relaxed, cooked, played outside, laughed and mainly played with the little girl (because we all know that's why they really came!) I love my family!

I hope your 4th of July was as fantastic as mine!
