Dinner and Flowers

We had our new youth pastor and his wife (who by the way is one of the sweetest couples) over for dinner last week. The best part is that they have only been married a week which means she is just learning to cook, which means my cooking doesn't seem all that bad. :)

I gave them the latest addition of our local cookbook as a welcome gift so that meant I had to cook recipes from it. Below is the Fresh Georgia Peach Pie. SO yummy! I also made a creamy chicken pasta that was fantastic if I do say so myself.

The only bad part was my phone rang while I was cooking. My sweet friend said "Whatcha Doing?" Me: "Cooking that casserole you made that time and a peach pie." Friend: "For your family?" Me: "No, we are having our new youth pastor and wife over for dinner." Friend: "Oh, I was wondering! I didn't think you really cooked." Seriously?! I mean, it is not that bad. I do cook for my family... sometimes...

Also, Nana and Amelia picked us flowers to decorate the house for our little dinner party. I guess they were thinking at least the house would be pretty in case dinner wasn't all that good. HA! It really was good and a really good time!

While at dinner the youth pastor was mentioning in conversation about texting the kids. I questioned this, "Really, you text high schoolers as a main line of communication?" I was being serious thinking surely our entire youth group can't afford monthly cell phone service. I mean I only had 911 service until college. He said it works. Then I got to work and one of the youth's parents mentioned how her daughter thinks he is so cool because he texts them. Obviously he is more in the know and much cooler than me! Should I get Amelia a cell phone for her first birthday?! Gees Louise!

10 Months of Fatherhood

He has been a Daddy for 10 months now. What a great Daddy he is! I have known him for almost 6 years, and he has been an amazing husband for three and a half years. I had no idea he had more to give, but he does, every single day. I am so blessed to have that man in our lives! That grill and newspaper hardly shows the appreciation you deserve.

Amelia absolutely loves her Daddy (Da-Da as he is known around here). It still makes me melt to watch them love on each other. And my goodness, she is the spitting image of him! This works well for me because I think he's hot stuff! :) FYI, she will never be "hot stuff" for as long as we are living. Is there a way to make them stay this size?

This month you have added quite a bit to your list little girl:

* Mama is your new favorite word.
* You now say "Hey!" while waving along with "Bye-Bye"
* You crawl all over the place still on your hands and toes rather than knees
* You pull-up like a champ and walk all around the ottoman and table as long as your are holding on
* You love to see yourself in mirrors and pictures. You squeal with delight and it is so funny.
* You scrunch your nose up when you smile and laugh
* You eat ANYTHING IN SIGHT. Chicken, pork chops, spaghetti, all veggies, oatmeal, watermelon, I could go on and on. You love it all! Hopefully you will not be a picky eater.

Beach (or should I say pool) trip

I have had this entry in edit limbo for weeks. I meant to add more pictures, arrange pictures, etc. but our computer crashed. It is now fixed but it is 5 days slower than Christmas (which, by the way, is not all that show anymore). So, I will just post as is...

We went to the beach the first weekend in June. We had a great group of friends and 3 special little girls. It was so much fun! Amelia did not like the ocean one bit, but she loved the pool.

We made it! We literally ran from the clubhouse back to the house in the rain. The girls laughed and we had fun
